It was in 1926 when an international conference was organized at Camp Edith Macy. It is now known as Edith Macy Conference Centre. One of the foremost objectives of this day was to highlight the need for an international day when Girl Scouts and Girl Guides can actually give preference to the worldwide Girl Scouting and Girl Guiding. They can show appreciation and thanks to all the sisters across the globe. It was in 1999 when the name of this day was changed to ‘World Thinking Day’ from the ‘Thinking Day’. It was mainly done for emphasizing the overall global aspect of this day.

In addition to this, you must know that World Thinking Day Fund had also been made to support this movement financially. Well, each year the World thinking Day comes with different themes. In 2020, the name of the theme was ‘Living Threads’. On the other side, if we talk about the theme of World Thinking Day in 2021, it will be ‘Stand Together for Peace’.
